MOUNT OLIVET, Ky. (FOX 56) — On Monday, the Robertson County judge executive announced former Sheriff Randy Insko will step out of retirement to serve as interim sheriff until the next election.
The announcement on Oct. 13 comes just days after the now-former Robertson County Sheriff Terry Gray resigned following his third DUI arrest in two years.
"Currently, our county is experiencing what I can only describe as trauma, and I believe that next year’s elected sheriff should be chosen wholly by the citizens of Robertson County, and as the result of an 'even playing field,'" Valerie Grigson Miley, the county's judge executive, said in a Facebook post.
