The recreational harvest of flounder in all Florida state and federal waters will close Oct. 15 and remain closed through Nov. 30, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said.

The season will reopen on Dec. 1.

“The closed season provides protection to flounder during the time when pre-spawning aggregations form, which ensures more fish can reproduce each year,” the FWC said.
