A highly anticipated Italian restaurant with a familiar name downriver that's been more than a year in the making is set to open this week.
Dolce V Cucina Italiana is set to open on Oct. 16 under Vince Cangialosi, brother of Tony Cangialosi, who recently reopened his Tony Cannoli Sweets & Eats in the space next door to the restaurant. Cangialosi and his family once operated the former Dolce Vita Ristorante on Fort Street in Riverview and the Dolce Vita Grill in Monroe. The family also operated Dolce Vita restaurants in Florida before returning to Michigan.
Cangialosi is operating Dolce V with sons Luca and Noah in the kitchen.
“Everything will be made fresh, in-house,” Cangialosi said. “My espresso comes from Italy, and my extra-virgin olive oil comes from a town I grew up in Sicily."
