DETROIT -- Reporters were seated in the interview room at Comerica Park, but Scott Harris’ real audience on Monday was the fans.

Harris, the Tigers’ president of baseball operations, gave a wrap-up of the 2025 season on a day he would have much rather spent in Toronto, preparing to watch Game 2 of the American League Championship Series.

And he very nearly was.

The Tigers went to the 15th inning of Game 5 of the AL Division Series before falling to the Seattle Mariners on Friday .

For much of the first part of the year, the Tigers were the best team in baseball. On July 8, they were 59-34 and held a 15.5-game lead over the Guardians.

But the Tigers stumbled to a 7-17 record in September while the Guardians stormed back to mount the largest comeback to win a division in MLB history.
