AUBURN — Running back Damari Alston is no longer with Auburn football , Hugh Freeze said Monday, Oct. 13.
Alston "failed to meet the expectations and standards of our program," Freeze said. "We love him, wish him the best, but that's where it's at."
The senior tailback from Atlanta was a team captain this fall and played in four games this season, missing contests against Ball State and South Alabama due to a shoulder injury he sustained in the season opener against Baylor.
Alston waited in the wings behind the likes of Tank Bigsby and Jarquez Hunter for three years to earn the opportunity presented to him to begin the 2025 campaign. He had a promising start, with 16 carries for 84 yards and a touchdown in Week 1. Looking for a free mini puzzle? Play
