Good Shepherd’s annual tradition of “a delicious Thanksgiving meal” continued Monday — the 63rd anniversary.
The dinner is free of charge to anyone in the community, says Good Shepherd, one of the largest providers of human and social services in Hamilton.
“Guests are treated to a Thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings,” said Brother Richard MacPhee, Good Shepherd’s chief executive officer.
MacPhee said the meal includes “hot roasted turkey smothered in rich gravy,” paired with “a generous helping of creamy mashed potatoes, whipped smooth with butter and love, and vibrant seasonal vegetables, highlighting the signature flavours of fall.”
Food bank use is widening and more people are accessing them for the first time, local providers say
