SIOUX CITY — A house on the city’s west side was damaged Sunday evening in a fire, and an occupant suffered minor injuries.
Sioux City Fire Rescue Assistant Chief Josh Koppelman said crews were called to 1801 West First St. around 6:35 p.m. Sunday for a reported fire. When crews arrived, the front of the house was in flames.
The fire was brought under control “approximately five minutes after crews arrived,” Koppelman said. He said the cause of the fire was not yet known, and he could not comment on the extent of the damage.
An occupant of the house suffered what Koppelman described as “minor injuries” and was transported to the hospital.
A total of seven apparatuses and approximately 18 emergency responders were called to the scene, Koppelman said.
