Cornwall’s Cline House Gallery and Studio literally rolled out the cultural carpet on Saturday.

Second Street passersby and gallery visitors alike were invited to contribute to the city’s new Community Pathway.

“It’s gone beyond my expectations,” said Pat Davies, a quilter who donated several pieces of fabric she had collected while travelling to different parts of the world.

The approximately five-metre by one-metre parcel was laid out from property’s front flower bed to the sidewalk.

Davies was recruited by Cline House educator Sean George to mark Cornwall’s involvement with the annual Ontario Culture Days festival .

“I came up with the idea of creating a carpet, and then (Davies) the sort of had the idea of a community pathway,” George said.
