Woman struck by debris just outside of Redwest Music Festival has passed away, family says

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — A woman who was in an accident outside of the Redwest Music Festival has passed away, according to her family.

Salt Lake City Police Department says Ava Ahlander was struck by debris from a construction site nearby due to high winds.

In a GoFundMe posted by the family, they state, "We are heartbroken to share that Ava Ahlander tragically passed away this weekend following an accident at the Redwest Music Festival. Ava was a beautiful soul whose kindness, warmth, and adventurous spirit touched everyone around her."

The funds received will be used to cover funeral expenses, the family confirmed. Any remaining funds will be donated to a charity in Ahlander's name.
