ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – The roar of engines and cheers of a united racing community filled WesTx Abilene Raceway as friends, family, and fans came together to celebrate Scott Mac, a four-time NHRA national champion and world record holder who is courageously battling stage 4 metastatic melanoma.

Held as a birthday bash benefit, the event was more than just a race; it was a tribute to a man who has given so much to the sport. Proceeds from the race, T-shirt sales, a silent auction, and donations are going toward Scott's medical bills.

The track wasn’t just filled with roaring engines but also heartfelt tributes. One of the most emotional moments came when Scott's daughter made a solo pass down the track, a symbolic gesture of love and strength in honor of her father.
