INDIANAPOLIS — Forever, the famous family Schumacher name will be linked to Michael Schumacher, seven-time Formula 1 World Drivers’ Championship-winner, and his domination of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course — four poles and five wins in seven U.S. Grand Prix starts — as well as his uber-public disdain for the idea the F1 legend would ever entertain attempting the Indianapolis 500 .

But Monday, his son Mick Schumacher, the fellow ex-F1 driver, penned the opening pages of a new chapter at the Racing Capital of the World that could look very different.
