EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEVV)— Evansville Christian Girls Soccer captured their first IHSAA Sectional title in school history on Saturday night.
Evansville Christian's defense delivered a strong performance, securing a 3-0 victory over the Pike Central Chargers.
Peyton Geer and Ellie Schroeder were key players, scoring all three goals for Evansville Christian. This brought their combined season total to 37 goals.
Evansville Christian has been on a hot streak, winning five of their last six matches and improving their record to 9-6-1. In those six games, they scored 34 goals. Pike Central's defeat ended their four-match winning streak, shifting their record to 12-5-1.
Evansville Christian is set to face Forest Park at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
