DULUTH, Minn. (Northern News Now) - The DECC announced new policy and procedures after an incident with the Minnesota Nurses Association (MNA) and Essentia Health leaders.

This incident follows ongoing labor disputes and unionization efforts involving Essentia Health and the MNA.

According to the DECC, on Oct. 7, a large group with the Minnesota Nurses Association confronted attendees of the Essentia Health Leadership Conference who were also renting a space at the DECC.

According to a press release from the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center (DECC), a review of internal policy and procedures was initiated after an incident on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, around noon at its Harbor Side Convention facility.
