The World Steel Association gives annual Steelie Awards recognizing significant contributions to the steel industry in six categories, including excellence in life cycle assessment, excellence in sustainability and innovation of the year, according to the Steelie Award 2025 Shortlist .

ArcelorMittal, whose North American headquarters is based in Schererville, nabbed four nominations. The steelmaker previously ran mills in East Chicago and Burns Harbor before selling them off to Cleveland Cliffs.
