TERRE HAUTE, Ind. WTWO/WAWV)— A Terre Haute home was left as a charred husk after a fully involved structure fire on Monday afternoon.

According to the acting Battalion Chief Eddie Hamblen, the Terre Haute Fire Department was dispatched to the 1500 block of Woodley Avenue near the intersection of 15th Street. Hamblen said that upon leaving the fire station, they could already see a large column of smoke that caused him to call in another engine.

Hamblen said when firefighters arrived on scene, they found the home fully engulfed in flames. Hamblen said that once enough crews had arrived on scene, they were able to extinguish the bulk of the flames and protect themselves from exposure as quickly as they could.

Hamblen stated that no one was home during the time of the fire, and no injurie
