JASONVILLE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— A barn in Jasonville is considered a total loss after a fire that occurred on Wednesday afternoon.
According to John Fagg, the Assistant Fire Chief for Lewis Township, firefighters responded to a fire on South County Road 500 West in Jasonville. Chief Fagg said that upon arrival, he noticed heavy smoke coming from the east entrance of the barn that turned into heavy flames within minutes.
Fagg stated that five other fire crews showed up to assist the Lewis Township Fire Department in battling the blaze. Fagg stated that the crews were able to extinguish the fire with the building still standing, though it was considered a total loss from damage.
Fagg said that no people were injured in the fire, but sadly, some baby chickens in the barn did not make it. Chi
