OWENSBORO, Ky. (WEVV) — The Owensboro Sanitation Department announced that vacuum leaf collection will begin on October 16, starting with Zone 3A.

Residents can place leaf piles within six feet of the curb for collection. The department advises against placing leaf piles over water meter lids or mixing them with other waste.

For those bagging leaves, they must be in plastic bags weighing less than 30 pounds and left curbside on trash days. Alternatively, bagged leaves can be dropped off at orange dumpsters in the Sportscenter parking lot on Hickman Avenue.

Residents can monitor zone progress online or sign up for alerts.

The final week for curbside limb collection is October 13-17, with service resuming in February.
