YORK, Pa. (WHTM) -- The second Pennsylvania State Trooper shot in Franklin County last week has been released from the hospital.

WellSpan York Hospital says Trooper Lucas Amarose was released from their care on Monday afternoon.

The 31-year-old was responding to a retail theft at a Dick's Sporting Goods on Oct. 8 in Antrim Township when the interaction quickly escalated, leading to a chase and a "fierce gunfight."

The ensuing gunfight injured Amarose and another Trooper, Thomas Pack, 23, and both were taken by helicopter to the hospital. Pack was released from the hospital the next day.
