State Representative Ken Upchurch has helped pave the road to the future for the Lake Cumberland region — both figuratively and, in some ways, literally. Now, Upchurch traveling that road into the sunset.

Upchurch announced via a statement received by the Commonwealth Journal on Monday that he would be retiring from his service in the state legislature following the end of his current term, in December of 2026. As such, Upchurch will not be running for re-election next year to represent the Kentucky House of Representatives' 52nd District in Frankfort.
