The Somerset Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) held their monthly meeting at the library on Saturday, September 13th to recognize Constitution Week and other special commemorative dates for this Fall. Mayor Keck of Somerset was our special guest and speaker.
Constitution Week focuses on the events surrounding September 17, 1787, when our Founding Fathers signed the draft of the Constitution. It wasn’t until 1789, when it was officially adopted as our national governing document. Mayor Keck spoke concerning the significance and impact of this governing document and how it has served our country faithfully over the past 238 years.
