GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — On Oct. 18, visitors to Joe Taylor Park in Grand Rapids can attend a pumpkin party with Friends of Grand Rapids Parks, a local environmental nonprofit.

"This is the first time we've done it in partnership," Stacy Bare, executive director of Friends of Grand Rapids Parks, said. "We're partnering with Baxter Community Center."

From noon to 2 p.m., attendees can enjoy a variety of fall-themed treats and giveaways, including free trees from local foresters.

"By next springtime, it's a flourishing tree," Bare said.

Hundreds of pumpkins, kids' activities, cider, donuts and more will also fill the free, family-friendly event in the heart of Grand Rapids' Baxter neighborhood.
