PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Tempo USA has recalled more than 46,000 Ambiano electric pressure cookers due to a "serious burn hazard," according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.

The recall notice says the lid of the pressure cooker can be opened before enough steam pressure has been released. This may cause hot contents to escape, potentially burning the user.

There have been 11 reported incidents of the contents escaping, eight of which resulted in severe burn injuries, according to the notice.

The Ambiano electric pressure cookers were sold for around $40 at ALDI stores nationwide between January 2016 and December 2019. They have either six- or eight-quart capacity.
