At 5:21 p.m. on Monday, the National Weather Service released a coastal flood advisory in effect until 8 p.m. for the Bronx and Queens as well as Westchester, Suffolk and Nassau counties.
The weather service says to be ready for, "Up to one foot of inundation above ground level in vulnerable areas near the waterfront and shoreline."
"Minor flooding in the more vulnerable locations near the waterfront and shoreline. Some roads and low-lying properties including parking lots, parks, lawns, and homes and businesses with basements near the waterfront will experience minor flooding," comments the weather service.
