On Monday at 7:55 p.m. the National Weather Service issued a coastal flood statement valid for Tuesday between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. for Staten Island.

The weather service says, "Up to one half foot of inundation above ground level expected in vulnerable areas near the waterfront and shoreline."

"Brief minor flooding of the more vulnerable locations near the waterfront around the times of high tide late Tuesday afternoon," explains the weather service. "Do not drive through flooded roadways."
