Ford, one of the Calumet Region's largest industrial employers, made a series of leadership changes as it reorganizes its corporate hierarchy.
The Dearborn, Michigan-based company, which employs thousands at the Chicago Assembly Plant on the far South Side and in the Chicago Stamping Plant in Chicago Heights, named Jim Baumbick president of Ford Europe. The former global head of product development will lead strategic direction in Europe.
He will be succeeded as vice president of advanced product development, cycle planning and programs by Sam Basile, who is joining Ford after more than three decades in the industry, mostly at General Motors.
Bryce Currie was named chief manufacturing officer, expanding his global role. He will now be responsible for global manufacturing and safety.
