LANCASTER, S.C. (WBTV) - Lancaster County residents are making their voices heard when it comes to growth across the county.
Lancaster County Council is expected to move forward with a housing development moratorium at its Monday night council meeting.
WBTV spoke with residents across the county, many sharing that it was important for them to communicate directly with the county council about the proposed moratorium. Several people said that they believe a pause in development is desperately needed in the county.
Council is set to discuss a housing development moratorium ordinance that would pause new projects for nine months in the Indian Land/Panhandle area. One resident, Mary Jo Rini, submitted a public comment ahead of the meeting and believes growth is out of control.
