LELAND, Miss. (WJTV) - The mayor of Leland told WJTV 12 News that suspects have been arrested in connection to the mass shooting that killed six people in the town.

Investigators have not said how many suspects were arrested, and those suspects have not been identified. However, multiple agencies, including the FBI, are actively working the case.

"They are working diligently right now trying to get the suspects in custody. I can say they do have some suspects in custody. I'm not allowed to say any more information as far as that is concerned, but that's the progress we've made," said Leland Mayor John Lee.

According to authorities, a total of 16 people were shot after Leland High School’s homecoming game. The shooting occurred in the Main Street area of Leland on October 11, 2025.
