STURGEON BAY, Wis. (WFRV) - The government shutdown continues to impact communities around the country, including right here in northeast Wisconsin.
Coast Guard members are showing up to work, but without a paycheck.
“These government shutdowns happen, these coast guard members lose out on their income, but they continue to show up to work every day, and continue to do their jobs, and they continue to serve our country and our community,” said Kevin Osgood, chairman of the Sturgeon Bay coast guard committee.
Even if available funds from the federal government are moved, Coast Guard members will not receive their paychecks.
