BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - A non-profit that helps first responders with wellness has gotten a boost from a local auto dealer for an upcoming event.

The co-founders of Toned Out Project met with representative of Quirk Motor City in Bangor on Monday.

They accepted a check for $2,500 from the Quirk family and their employees to help with a free dinner for first responders in our area.

WABI spoke with both of them about the upcoming event and why it’s so important.

“We had an employee bring it to our attention, and we were like, oh, that’s really neat. Let’s look into this, and so here we are. We’ve partnered up with them, and we’re really excited. We want to bring attention to the cause,” said Jill Quirk, of Quirk Auto Group.
