FLINT, Mich. (WNEM) - State lawmakers and other officials came together in Flint as Governor Gretchen Whitmer signed the 2026 School Aid Fund budget on Monday, October 13.

The Michigan Legislature approved the $81 billion state budget on Friday, October 3, three days into the new fiscal year. $24 billion from the spending plan will go toward K-12 schools with $19.5 billion from the School Aid Fund.
