PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - 26 people were arrested as the result of various human trafficking missions throughout the month of September in Northeast Portland, according to the Portland Police Bureau.
The missions took place along Northeast 82nd Avenue and Northeast Sandy Boulevard, in response to ongoing community complaints of sex trafficking in the areas.
In total, authorities arrested 26 total people on charges of commercial sexual solicitation and/or unlawful prostitution procurement activities.
Police say additional information was gathered about suspected buyers and traffickers, and that 18 trafficking victims were contacted by advocates for assistance and connection to resources.
