SUNBURY, Ohio — The Pettisville and Van Buren boys golf teams both find themselves in contention after day one of the Ohio High School Athletic Association Division III state tournament at NorthStar Golf Club on Monday.

The Blackbirds sit third in the team standings with a score of 320, while the Black Knights are currently sixth at 331.

Creighton Aeschliman led Pettisville with a 6-over-par round of 78 that has him in a tie for 10th place.

Graycen Osterday is tied for 18th with an 80, and Jack Leppelmeier and Rylee Bevard are both tied for 25 after posting matching rounds of 81.

Van Buren’s Jake Schroeder and Cole Bishop both shot 79 to place themselves in a tie for 13th place. Ben Heitkamp, meanwhile, is tied for 33RD with an 83 and Andrew Hibbard is tied for 54th with a 90.
