LINCOLN, R.I. (WPRI) — The fire marshal for the town of Lincoln who's facing child pornography charges is no longer a licensed Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), 12 News has learned.

Jeffrey Almond, 41, voluntarily surrendered his EMT license last week, according to a consent order made public by the Rhode Island Department of Health.

Almond was taken into custody and charged with receipt of child pornography, possession of child pornography and two counts of attempted transfer of obscene material to a minor back in August.

The charges stem from a months-long investigation in which Almond reportedly chatted online with an undercover officer who he believed to be a minor, as well as another who he thought was the father of a minor.
