Authorities first learned Friday morning about the water woes affecting the Montana State Prison’s inmates and staff.

The Montana Department of Corrections hired a water leak detection and mapping consultant out of Missoula to help find the leak.

That was Sunday.

As of Monday afternoon, the search continued.

“The leak has not been found,” said Alexandria Klapmeier, a spokeswoman for the Department of Corrections.

“Search efforts are continuing with an additional leak locator who came in from Bozeman,” she said. “Additional Montana National Guard troops were called in today to help with transporting water to the main water tank. Portable showers were brought in today but the department is still sourcing more showers.”
