TOLLESON, Ariz. — One person is dead after sheriff's deputies responded to reports of a shooting early Monday morning near Tolleson.

The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office said deputies were dispatched on Oct. 13 at about 1 a.m. to the area of Avondale Boulevard and Atlanta Avenue. Upon arrival, one person was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The suspect reportedly left the scene before deputies arrived. MCSO homicide detectives have taken over the investigation and the shooting is considered an "isolated" incident.

The victim's identity was not disclosed.
