PORTLAND, Ore. — U.S. Immigration and Custom Enforcement (ICE) agents who told school officials they were conducting surveillance outside Wood Middle School in Wilsonville on Monday were asked to leave by school staff.
In a letter to families, West-Linn Wilsonville School District said that an ICE vehicle was spotted parked on the middle school's campus near the football field. District staff spoke with the officials, who confirmed they were ICE agents, and were told that they were there for "surveillance of the general area."
"Staff informed the agents that they were parked on private school property and asked them to leave, which they did shortly after," the district said.
Both the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office and School Resource Officer have been made aware of the occurrence.
