ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - St. Louis police have arrested 23 people in the last 10 days as part of a new initiative targeting groups causing trouble in downtown areas.
The latest incident occurred Sunday night at 7th and Olive streets, where officers saw a group of teenagers using drugs outside closed businesses. When police approached, the group ran off.
During the chase, one officer broke his hand while attempting to arrest an armed teenager, who is now in custody. Police also arrested two other 17-year-olds who were armed, but they were later released to their guardians.
