ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) -St. Louis County Police announced on Monday a new dedicated early childhood center for children of officers in the force.

The initiative began during the summer, which the department says will play a crucial part in recruiting and retaining officers.

The daycare is in conjunction with the National Law Enforcement Foundation, the St. Louis Police Foundation, KinderCare, and the St. Louis County Fraternal Order. This will be the second daycare of its kind nationwide, according to the police department.
