HENDERSON, Ky. (WFIE) - Henderson Municipal Power and Light officials are conducting a feasibility study for a natural gas plant.
HMP&L General Manager, Brad Bickett, says the utility company has hired ’1898 & Company’ to conduct a study about the future energy options that are most cost effective and resilient for future energy needs.
Bickett says the study will also look at the cost of a natural gas plant, and how the change could affect customers.
“We are pursuing the lowest cost option to keep it affordable and reliable for our customers,” he says. “And this study is very important for that process. This is like a guidance document if you will. Once it’s completed, it will give us what our options are and how we’ll proceed.“
