LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - As families overseas celebrate the homecoming of loved ones they haven’t seen since the Israel-Hamas war started in 2023, communities in Kentucky are sharing that relief.
The 20 remaining Israeli hostages were released by Hamas on Monday in exchange for hundreds of Palestinian prisoners and detainees. It was a key part of a ceasefire deal between the two war-ridden states.
Even with many people back home, Palestinians and Israelis in Kentucky said they’re looking to the future with cautious optimism.
