GRAND HAVEN, Mich. (WOOD) — As the White House and lawmakers in Washington D.C. continue to argue over funding of the federal government, consequences are looming for Michigan military families who are on track to miss their first paycheck Wednesday.

President Donald Trump posted on social media over the weekend that he is directing the Department of Defense to use "any and all available funding" to pay active military members. The Pentagon responded, saying it identified more than $8 billion in unused research and development funding that it could use to make that happen.
