HERNANDO, Miss. - A former Mississippi youth pastor was sentenced to 10 years after pleading guilty to sexual battery on Monday afternoon, the DeSoto County District Attorney's Office said.

Lindsey Whiteside was indicted on sexual battery of a minor by a person of trust or authority.
An investigation into Whiteside started in November of 2024, and she was indicted less than a month after the investigation began.
According to DA Barton, the state of Mississippi requested the maximum sentence of 30 years, but Whiteside was sentenced to a total of 10 years: three years of house arrest followed by seven years of post-release supervision.
