IOWA (KCAU) — Millions of Americans who rely on Medicare for health coverage get their chance to make changes to their plans, or the opportunity to sign up for coverage, as open enrollment begins this week.

Open enrollment begins on Wednesday and stays open through December 7. If you are looking to file just for individual coverage, plans on the health insurance marketplace won't be open for another couple of weeks. That opens November 1 and runs through January 15.

Community Engagement Regional Coordinator, Pam Wurster, said that talking with one of their volunteers can help you choose the right plan.
