SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — The City of Ballinger has responded to a major water leak that has left citizens with no water or very low water pressure.

The city originally stated around 3 p.m. on Oct.13 that there was a significant water main leak at the intersection of 6th and Avenue B. According to the city, the leak was caused by a contractor working in the Ballinger area.

As of 6 p.m., the city stated that crews are still working on the leak issue and that they are aiming to have the leak fixed by this evening.

Water is being drawn down, and the elevated tower has been shut down, switching over to the standpipe. The city stated they are still working on isolating the leak.
