LYNDON, Ky. — There's growing opposition in Lyndon to a proposed early childhood education center some in the community worry will increase traffic and put kids in the middle of a flood-prone area.
Dave Barker has two 'Say No to LeafSpring' signs outside his home on Old Whipps Mill Road.
"In my mind, it doesn't make much sense with the traffic and the green space and the flooding," he told WHAS11. "Leave this place alone."
LeafSpring School, which has two other locations in Jefferson County's east end, has plans to lease a large grassy plot of land from the UofL Foundation to build a one-story, 18,000 square-foot day care center and adjoining parking lot. The property sits beside UofL's Shelby Campus.
