LAKEWOOD RANCH, Fla. ( WWSB ) - New information is being released about a chain reaction crash involving three school buses Saturday night on State Road 70.

The Florida Highway Patrol says three buses carrying 90 students from Fort Pierce attending a band competition in Lakewood Ranch were stopped in the eastbound lane of State Road 70 near Palmbrush Trail at about 8:20 p.m.

An SUV, driven by a 32-year-old Tampa woman, rear-ended the bus in the back of the line, causing a chain reaction crash.

“Obviously, the driver was not paying attention to what is going on,” Senior Trooper Kenn Watson told ABC7.

“Unfortunately, this vehicle didn’t see the school buses and crashed directly into the rear of that third bus. That bus pushed into the second bus, which pushed into the first bus,” Watso
