One lane of traffic in each direction on 17th Avenue near the railroad crossing will be closed for about two weeks starting Tuesday.

The two middle lanes between Shavano Street and Centennial Drive will be closed while construction workers work on medians required as part of the city’s Quiet Zones project, so trains can pass without sounding their horns.

Left turns from Lamplighter Drive and Meadow Street onto 17th Avenue will be prohibited.

Construction work may occur outside regular hours until 7 p.m. weekdays and on Saturdays and Sundays.
