The Pasadena City Council Municipal Services Committee Tuesday, Oct. 14, is due to receive a report on a local roadway safety action plan with the goal of zero traffic fatalities and a reduction in injury crashes by the year 2035.

The report will be heard by the full City Council on Monday, Oct. 27, according to a staff report. In September, the Transportation Advisory Commission unanimously supported the plan and recommended City Council adoption.

Councilmembers Justin Jones, Rick Cole, Tyron Hampton and Jason Lyon sit on the Municipal Services Committee.

In preparing the plan, city officials found a network of roadways that make up 13% of Pasadena’s roads but experience 80% of the city’s injury collisions. State law allows speed limit reductions to be applied to these roads.
