A young teen is fighting for his life in the hospital after he was shot in the face while hanging out with friends in the backyard of a home on Monday evening, according to the Philadelphia Police Department.
The shooting happened just after 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 13 on the 3100 block of Gaul Street in the Port Richmond section of Philadelphia, Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small said.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a 16-year-old boy with a gunshot wound to his face, Inspector Small explained.
