KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A juvenile has serious injuries after being struck by a car Monday night.

The incident was reported around 6 p.m. in the area of West 103rd Street and Lee Boulevard.

The Leawood Police Department said the juvenile was on an electric scooter. They were taken to an area hospital in critical condition.

Police said the driver of the car remained on scene.

Lee Boulevard remains closed north of 103rd Street until further notice, according to police.
